We talked about the importance of subject lines last week in class while discussing your pitch assignment. Before you begin that writing assignment, I suggest you to take a look at the Best Practices for Writing Engaging Subject Lines. There are a lot of great tips in this article.

Coming across writing resources like this is just one of the reasons I encourage you to actually read public relations blogs or other industry-related content. Being an avid reader will help you become a stronger writer, a stronger student, a stronger job candidate and ultimately, a stronger public relations professional.

If you haven’t put reading on your daily calendar, you need to find a time slot that is open…maybe 30 minutes less on Pinterest or Facebook and just do some reading about the industry you plan to enter. I think you will soon discover it is one of the best investments of your time.

In the meantime, pull up a chair and let’s talk.
