It’s finally here! SPC Newsletter – Vol 1 Fall 11 – the Speech Communication Department newsletter.

For me, this is a great Christmas present! This has been a long-awaited project, so to see it finally come to fruition is awesome.

PRSSA members serve as the editorial board for this project, and they have done a tremendous job putting this first issue together. It has been approximately 20 years since the department has had a newsletter, and thanks to the efforts of students, faculty and alumni, the publication is back in circulation!

Dr. Blankson will be posting a link to the publication on the department website and Facebook page, but I couldn’t wait to share the news. You can read the first edition now. Share it with friends, family and any alumni you know too; help us spread the word about what’s happening in the Speech Communication Department.

We hope “The Communicator” will serve as an effective tool for sharing news about the department, addressing current issues affecting the communication discipline and providing a means for our alumni to re-connect with the department and share their professional accomplishments. Let me know what you think of our first issue. I welcome your feedback.

Also, be sure to contact me if you are interested in contributing to the next issue of “The Communicator.” It will be published at the end of the spring semester.

Pull up a chair and let’s talk.
