The role of public relations in the nonprofit sector will be the topic of discussion on Wednesday. As your text mentions, nonprofit organizations are the source for many jobs, and they also provide ample internship and volunteer opportunities. This field of public relations will also be represented on the PR professional panels we are hosting at the end of the month. So, you might want to keep that in mind and possibly develop some questions you would like to ask some of the professionals. In the past, these panels have served as effective networking tools, and have lead some students to their current internships.

In the meantime, I came across this article discussing the pros/cons of working for a nonprofit organization. As always, it may not be a good fit for you, but for many, they find the work they do with a nonprofit organization to be very rewarding.

See what you think about some of the misconceptions discussed in this article and we’ll talk about it more on Wednesday.

Pull up a chair and let’s talk!
